When I first visited Hospice Alkmaar in July 2000, it was a dream struggling to become a reality. In October of 2002, when I visited to teach, along with colleague Claire Pace, APRN and Executive Director of HospiceCare in the Berkshires, Hospice Alkmaar had already been a reality for almost two years.
The initial team met with me at the Alkmaar Medical Center (Medisch Centrum Alkmaar), in July 2000.
